The Messika
Maison

As told by its founder

It all started with an instinct. A belief. When I created the Messika Maison in 2005, I was 22 years old. I realised that representations of femininity were changing and multiplying. I wanted to offer diamond jewelry that reflected the spirit of the free, confident women I saw appearing. I wanted to offer luxury jewelry to give them more confidence and the strength to take their ambitions even further.

A free, family-run Maison

Messika is one of the few independent jewelry Maisons founded by a woman and whose collections are still created by its designer, and I’m proud of that. We’ve been diamond experts since the 1970s, thanks to my father, but our youthfulness and independence have enabled us to retain a freedom that, as Artistic Director, is extremely precious to me. Each piece of diamond jewelrycarries my inspiration, a message, a piece of my story. There are no random creations at Messika.

A bold Maison

Messika is always daring when it comes to entering the exclusive and traditional world of jewelry. Every season, I try, like a fashion designer, to offer new ways of wearing diamonds that are more original and uninhibited. To create strong creative concepts, like Move and its moving diamonds. Original ways of wearing, with anklets, belly chains or even diamond piercings. We've made some bold moves, such as teaming up with celebrities like Beyoncé and Rihanna. As well as devoting ourselves exclusively to one precious stone, the diamond.

Messika took action for the libanese population

After providing aid for the Lebanese population in 2022 and 2023, having distributed over 4000 hygiene kits to young women, in 2024 the Fondation Valérie Messika has decided to support the NGO Plan International France. Plan International France is part of Plan International, an international humanitarian NGO which works to create a fairer world, promoting children's rights and gender equality.

Economic liberation in India is still an opportunity that few young women have access to in the face of gender discrimination, a lack of suitable education or job opportunities and pay inequality between men and women.
Today, only 29% of young Indian women are able to contribute to the national economy. Since 2010, Plan International has led the ‘Saksham’ programme in Delhi to provide young women there with equal access to employment. It all starts with awareness campaigns to mobilise young women and encourage local businesses to change their habits. It's also about ensuring that the training provided lines up with business expectations in order to maximise the chances of educated young women entering employment. The ‘Saksham’ programme therefore endeavours to identify opportunities in the job market and to develop the appropriate training.
In the country where diamonds were born, and where diamond and jewelry expertise dates back countless generations, the Fondation Valérie Messika has chosen to support Plan International France in its mission which has already provided education for 12,000 young women, 70% of which have entered the job market.
